Amsterdams Historisch Museum is located on the site of an old civil orphanage, and covers over seven centuries of Amsterdam’s history - including sculptures, paintings, literature, and archaeological finds all charting the religious, technological, and social growth of Amsterdam through the centuries. The museum covers history up to the modern day and is continually adding new exhibits to its collection. There is a gift shop, a library, and a restaurant on the site. There are a variety of themed tours available for visitors to enjoy.
