The Amsterdam Biblical Museum is housed in two 17th century buildings known as the Cromhout houses, after their first resident – Jacob Cromhout. The museum hosts a variety of items of religious significance, including artefacts from ancient Egypt, centuries old models of the temple of Solomon and Herod, and more modern reconstructions, including a 19th century model of the Tabernacle. The museum also holds a collection of bibles, including the oldest printed bible in the Netherlands – dating back to 1477.
