The Allard Pierson Museum is the archaeological museum of the University of Amsterdam, and is named after their first professor of Classical Archaeology. The Museum covers the ancient civilisations of Greece, Rome, Egypt, and the Near East – bringing those civilisations to life through exhibits of pottery, sculptures, utensils, and glassware. The exhibits cover a time period ranging from 4000BC to 500AD, and give a vivid representation of everyday life, mythology, and religion during that time.
