The Achlumermolen is an historic polder mill located on Hitzumerweg in the town of Achlum. The mill was built in 1851, and served the 1000 hectare Achlumer Noorderpolder until 1954, when an electric pump took over the husbandry of the polder. The mill was bought by the Fryske Mill Foundaiton in 1981, and was restored to working order in 2006 after a long term fund-raising effort. The mill officially re-opened in 2007.
